I have just listed another batch of planet scenery on ebay (click on link, and the view my other listings) for anyone that is interested, Numbers are limited, it will be a while before I have time to make some more!!
One of the first Fleets I started collecting was The Terran Federation from the TV series Blake’s 7. The only available ship at the time was “The Pursuit Ship”. On the show these travelled about in threes and seemed to be a minor threat to the Liberator.
However, in my game universe the other Fleets are equipped with ships vastly superior to the Federations Pursuit Ships which are basically Frigates. The best I could do at the time was to give Servelan a couple of Escort ships, but these again were no better than Frigates. Later I managed to find something suitable in the Destroyer size vessel but, like the escorts not cannon. As my other fleets grew it became apparent that the Terran Federation Fleet was going to struggle.
Hours and hours of searching for something suitably bigger drew a blank. Then it came to me, why not just buy a couple of upscaled Federation Pursuit ships and call them something else!!! They clearly looked the part and their obvious size would enable them to be something more powerful. So I went back to shapeways and purchased the large version of the Pursuit ship.
They are now the right size to be Heavy Cruisers….so that Fleet is up gunned a bit……still nothing in the battleship class!
For the time being at least this fleet is now complete!
A Pair of modifidied Shapeways Pursuit ships…Now Heavy Cruisers!
Cruiser along side Pursuit Ship
Heavy cruiser with the Liberator
Well, this ship is probably the most famous Mining Vessel in the history of Sci Fi and no Space ship collection would be complete without it…………………
RED DWARF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (This is one series I have all the episodes of….and what is more it returns with a new series in October I think) (well over due!)
Anyway, I needed a mining vessel for my game, I just had to have one of these! Made by corgi in 2004 (I think) maybe getting scarce now……..obviously if it was in scale with most of my fleet (1/7000) it would be about 30 inches long so this is one ship i don’t mind having out of scale…..it looks the part as it is a fairly large ship.
I needed to touch up the paint work a bit, basically just dry brushed to dirty it up a bit more but it is largely as it is straight out of the box.
Size comparison with the Liberator!!!
Things are now starting to happen with Captain Kirks Chair…. I have the swivel mechanism which is a 12 inch Lazy Susan from Rockler
Bruce Boyd sent me the Switches and light domes, some Rocker switches and some other bits that I ordered, they are the control parts of the arm pods, they got here yesterday, very pleased with those. They will eventually be wired up to some sounds and will make lights come on….there will also be a working intercom!
Feel free to contact Bruce By clicking on the name/ link above should you require any parts/props for your Trek furniture!!! He doesn’t have a website but can provide you with pictures of the stuff he does together with prices.
Please mention this blog link when contacting him…you may even get a discount!!!

I have a bit of work to do Painting the Rockers and some other parts, polishing some others, but I can get that done before I need to start thinking about wood! I’ll be going over the plans at the weekend. Updates as progress is made!
